About Us
Established in 2014, Solomon’s Porch provides Bible Study Resources aimed at equipping believers with tools to be able to read and understand the Bible for themselves - in essence - unlocking the Bible for a new generation of Christians. Our name is inspired by the ancient ‘Solomon’s Portico’ in the Jerusalem Temple where Jesus (John 10:23) and the Apostles (Acts 3:11; 5:12) met with skeptics and believers alike – teaching, preaching, and glorifying God.
Today, the Solomon’s Porch Collective has grown into a vision of a virtual gathering place of pilgrims, through the ministry of preaching and teaching the Word of God, to the Glory of God. Through Bible Studies, Timelines, Children's Curriculum, Video Teachings and Events, the virtual space of the Solomon’s Porch Collective is a hub which is aimed at bringing 21st Century believers and seekers to a place of meeting with the God of the Bible, through the Word of God.
One of the foundational resources of the ministry of Solomon’s Porch is a range of full-colour Bible Timelines including both the Old and New Testaments. These have been designed as easy-reference visual guides providing important contextual information of Scripture at-a-glance in Bible Study. Each Timeline has a corresponding Bible Study which can be downloaded as a course with the added option of Virtual Bible Study Groups. Topical Video Teachings will also be made available via Youtube offering further learning opportunities. Our Bible for Kids program includes curriculum for churches and home environments. Each series includes Bible lesson plans with topical life applications, Object Lessons, Crafts and Games.
“All the believers met together in Solomon’s Porch.” (Acts 5:12).
About The Team
The Founder : Gail Goslin Goncalves
This Resource Hub is a result of more than 20 years of ministry in the local church to both adults and children of all ages. Founded by Gail Goncalves in 2014, the Bible Timelines were originally created as ‘scrapbooked’ visuals as teaching aids in women’s ministry Bible Studies. These eventually became the digital, professionally designed, and developed product that is available today. Gail has completed 5 years of formal Ministerial and Theological Training in Johannesburg South Africa. She has achieved a diploma in practical ministry at Rhema Bible Training Centre as well as qualifying for her BTH – a bachelor’s degree in Theology (Cum Laude) at The Baptist Theological College South Africa, where she currently lectures part-time.
Decades of teaching Sunday School, Ladies' Bible Studies, Discipleship Programs, and Preaching within the context of local churches and communities have enabled her to express her passion for teaching God’s word in empowering believers to transition to becoming activated followers of Christ. Teaching the ancient bible truths in the context of God’s original intention secures an accurate understanding and application for us today, resulting in true Spiritual Growth for everyone, every time!
Gail is currently, an activated member of her Local Church at The Barn Christian Fellowship – in Hartbeespoort Dam, where she preaches, teaches, and serves wherever God directs. Gail also, speaks at various events and teaches courses at High School, College, and University levels.
The Creative : Jordan-Leigh Tavares
Throughout her life, Jordan-Leigh has had a passion for God's kingdom and His church. From volunteering as a Sunday School helper at the age of 9 to being a Youth Leader in high school, it has always been on Jordan's heart to be a part of God's big plan. In 2014, Jordan-Leigh attended a gap year program in Jeffery's Bay called Victory Gap Year. The seed for full-time ministry was planted throughout that year through mission trips, church events as well as being part of the leadership stream in the gap year. Jordan-Leigh went on to study a BEd Intermediate Phase at the University of Pretoria switching to part-time studies through UNISA in order to work full-time.
In 2017 Jordan-Leigh answered the call to full-time ministry, where she was appointed as the Children's Ministry Leader at The Barn Church in Boskruin, Johannesburg. This was an exciting combination of both passions: ministry and working with children. Jordan-Leigh developed a tailor made Sunday School curriculum for the church and also ran the Friday programs within the ministry.
In 2020, she became the Communications Manager at the Barn as well as the Children's Ministry leader. God placed a passion for design and writing on her heart opening her up to the world of media and digital marketing and design. Jordan-Leigh joined Solomon's Porch at the end of 2022, bringing her creativity, passion and generational talents to re-launch and expand the vision and portfolio in The Solomon's Porch Collective. Adding the children's curriculum to the collective as well as managing the creative, media and communications for Solomon's Porch, together mom and daughter feel poised to brings the teachings of the Bible to multiple generations of women and children. Jordan-Leigh is married with a daughter born in 2022 and is an active member of her local church - The Barn Church in Boskruin.
"And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch."
Acts 5:12b

How It Works
Self Study
The self-study component of our bible studies is where you will be spending intentional time in the word of God with the study and timeline. The course is designed to be completed individually on a weekly basis over a period of 10 week.. Contact can be made through e-mail for any necessary guidance.
This part of the Bible study helps grow your relationship with God. May you grow in knowledge and a deeper understanding of God's love for you personally.
Online Meetings
The paradigm shift of what 'meeting together' means in our world today has changed the way we communicate with one another. The online component to our Bible studies, along with our YouTube channel and social media presence, makes it easier for SPC Bible Study groups to connect directly once a month online from wherever we might be through Zoom. Dates and times of meetings will be dependent on the group joined. A group leader will be assigned to you to schedule monthly online sessions.
Breakfast meet-ups
For those wanting to extend their virtual experience to personal meet-ups, the Solomon's Porch Community in your Study Group will meet once a month. These breakfast meet-ups happen at the beginning of a Bible Study series and once a month going forward. We connect at these meet-ups and bring our experiences and testimonies we have had throughout the study together.
